6 Simple Eyesight Boosting Techniques Anyone Can Try Today

1. Drink water. This may sound so simple, but it is so important. Our bodies are 80% water, so keep it watered! Being dehydrated by just 2% impairs performance in tasks that require attention, immediate recall, and physical performance, including vision.
2. Palming. This is done to get rid of stress around the eyes and is a good way to relax the eyes while taking a short break from screens. Place both hands over the eyes and position the cup of your palm over the eyes. Gently massage the eye area, taking care  there is not too much pressure on the eyes.
3. Figure of Eight. This exercise is done to increase the flexibility of your eyes. Imagine a huge, sideways figure of eight, about 10 feet across. Now try to trace the figure of eight gradually for 2 minutes, alternating direction occassionally.
4. Near and Far Focusing. This is a very simple and great exercise. The best part of this exercise is that it can be done anywhere. Position a finger about 10 inches from the eyes. Focus on it for a few seconds. After this, focus on an object which is about 10 -20 feet ahead. After every few seconds try to focus on the two different objects one after the other. Repeat for 2-3 minutes.
5. Get good sleep. Research shows sleep deprivation can cause a dramatic impact on vision. Make sure to get good, deep sleep every night by sleeping at regular hours and avoiding high stimulation before bed.
6. Avoid toxins. Smoking and drug and alcohol abuse increase the risk to damaging the eyes, so practice moderation or avoid them entirely.
